SOME REFLECTIONS ON THE DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS OF THE SOGDIANS

The article highlights the position of the Sogdians in international relations during the early medieval period based on a comparative analysis of information presented in historical sources. The study, relying on scholarly conclusions, demonstrates that their privilege of conducting diplomatic relations on behalf of the Western Turkic Khaganate contributed to their economic and cultural development.
