METHODOLOGICAL BASIS FOR THE FORMATION OF SOCIAL AND EVERYDAY LIFE COMPETENCE

This article highlights the methodological foundations for the formation of social and everyday life competencies in students with intellectual developmental disabilities. The author provides a scientific and pedagogical analysis of the importance of social adaptation in the special education system, the content of social and everyday life orientation classes, and their role in preparing students for independent living. The article also thoroughly explains the technology of step-by-step formation of social and everyday life competencies, including its personal, cognitive, and activity-based components, while emphasizing the importance of cooperation among teachers, parents, and educators in this process. Special attention is paid to the development of students’ self-care skills, organization of daily household activities, independent functioning in the social environment, and communicative competencies within the process of special correctional education. The research findings show that the formation of social and everyday life competencies is an important pedagogical factor in ensuring the social adaptation, readiness for independent living, and integration into society of students with intellectual disabilities.
