LINGUOCULTURAL AND COGNITIVE ANALYSIS OF ZOONYMIC PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN FRENCH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

The article presents a linguocultural and cognitive analysis of zoonymic phraseological units in French and Uzbek languages. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that phraseological units based on animal names reflect human thinking, national mentality, and conceptual systems across different languages and cultures. The main aim is to identify the semantic, conceptual, and cultural features of zoonymic phraseological units and to reveal similarities and differences between French and Uzbek. The research employs comparative-analytical, linguocultural, and cognitive methods. The results indicate that while some animal images convey similar metaphorical meanings in both languages, most are shaped by national-cultural stereotypes. Zoonymic phraseological units also conceptually model human character, behavior, and social relations. The findings contribute to the development of phraseology, linguoculturology, and cognitive linguistics.
