LINGUOCOGNITIVE MECHANISMS OF IRONY CREATION IN THE SHORT STORIES OF TEFFI AND SALOMAT VAFO: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

The article examines the linguocognitive mechanisms of irony creation in the short stories of Russian writer Teffi and Uzbek writer Salomat Vafo. Drawing on the literary texts of both authors, the study analyses the cognitive structures underlying ironic utterances: conceptual dissonance, frame mismatch, violation of conversational implicatures, and pragmatic inversion. Both universal and nationally specific features of ironic discourse in the two literary traditions are identified.
