IBN SINA‘S MEDICAL VIEWS AND HIS MEDICAL VOCABULARY

This article comprehensively analyzes Ibn Sina’s medical views, his principles of disease classification, temperament theory, diagnostic and prognostic approaches, and the linguistic and lexicographic features of the medical lexicon used in Al-Qanun fi’t-tibb. The study highlights the relationship between the theoretical foundations of Ibn Sina’s medicine and practical medicine, his approach to creating scientific terminology, and his influence on Eastern and Western medical traditions. It also studies the semantic structure of the names of diseases, medicinal substances, symptomatic and anatomical terms used in the work, and their echo in modern medical terminology. The article serves to provide a deeper understanding of the process of formation of medical terminology by analyzing Ibn Sina’s medical lexicon from a historical-linguistic point of view.
