NAVRUZ AS THE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY

This article analyzes the history of the Navruz holiday, its spiritual and cultural significance, and its place as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. It also discusses the process of including Navruz in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, in particular, the content of the decision adopted at the 4th-11th sessions of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee in 2009 and 2016. The article scientifically substantiates the role of Navruz in strengthening friendship, solidarity, and tolerance between peoples, and the relevance of its preservation today.
