HISTORY OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC REFORMS IN THE SAMARKAND BEKDOM DURING THE REIGN OF AMIR HAYDAR IN THE BUKHARA EMIRATE

When describing the Samarkand Bekdom of the Bukhara Emirate in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it is important to note that during the reign of Amir Haydar, a representative of the Manghit dynasty, Samarkand regained its former prestige and influence. Owing to socio-economic reforms, the Samarkand Bekdom became one of the major central cities of the Bukhara Emirate. Significant changes occurred in several sectors of the city’s economic life. Based on the analysis of the reforms carried out by Amir Haydar, it is possible to characterize the main features of Samarkand’s economic development during this period.
