ARTISTIC AND STYLISTIC FEATURES OF ENGLISH SHORT FICTION: INTERPRETATION OF CHARACTER, CONFLICT, AND COMPOSITION

This article analyzes the artistic features of English short story writing from the perspective of character, conflict, and composition. The study examines the works of major nineteenth- and twentieth-century English-language writers such as James Fenimore Cooper, Charles Dickens, and O. Henry, revealing the artistic potential of the short story genre. It also presents a comparative analysis of English and Uzbek storytelling traditions, identifying similarities and differences in character construction, conflict development, and compositional structure.
