TRANSFORMATION OF TURKIC BORROWINGS IN THE ENGLISH LEXICON

This article is devoted to the analysis of the lexical-semantic features of Turkic borrowings (Turkisms) in the English language, their assimilation processes, and semantic transformations. The study demonstrates the openness of the English language to adopting such borrowings, especially in cultural and everyday spheres. The article also examines how Turkic lexical items adapt to the English lexical system through processes such as semantic expansion, semantic narrowing, and metaphorical transfer. In addition, the research highlights the risk of these words gradually losing their original cultural meanings over time.
