THE RELEVANCE OF AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ LANGUAGE SKILLS

Currently, education is aimed at developing mechanisms of influence that create a balance between social and personal interests in the student, teaching individuals how to improve themselves and find their place in life and work effectively in society. To improve the quality of education, it is necessary to continuously monitor its status and development trends and to carry out an objective and adequate assessment of students' academic achievements. Today, multi-parameter concepts based on humanism are being put forward worldwide for the development of language skills (in a foreign language) in students. Among them, it is very important to develop students' language learning skills on the basis of authentic materials, including materials intended for reading.
