A MODEL FOR DEVELOPING LINGUOCULTURAL COMPETENCE IN HIGH–LEVEL STUDENTS WITH UZBEK AS THE LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION

This article develops a model for developing linguocultural competence in high–school students with Uzbek as the language of instruction, based on the principles of modern pedagogy, linguodidactics, and educational design. The scientific problem is that existing studies have convincingly elucidated individual methods, techniques, and substantive foundations of linguacultural education. However, a comprehensive model specifically targeted at high school students with Uzbek as the language of instruction is presented fragmentarily. The theoretical basis of the study was formed by works on the linguacultural adaptation and analysis of textbooks for bilinguals, the development of linguacultural competence in teaching Russian as a second language, the modeling of learning systems, the contextualization of education in an ethnocultural environment, as well as works revealing the potential of visual–cognitive tools and integrated educational approaches. The result was a four–component model, including target–based, substantive, process–based, and evaluative–reflective components.
