BABUR’S EVALUATIVE SPEECH AND MASTERY IN CREATING A LINGUISTIC PORTRAIT (BASED ON “BABURNAMA”)

This article examines the evaluative speech in Baburnama by Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur based primarily on Uzbek linguistic scholarship. Using the images of Shaybani Khan, Khusravshah, and female characters, the study reveals Babur’s skill in constructing linguistic portraits through evaluative lexical choices and pragmatic strategies. The paper argues that Baburnama functions not only as a historical narrative but also as a moral and pragmatic discourse.
