SIMILAR AND DIFFERENT FEATURES OF ENLIGHTENMENT CONCEPTS IN FRENCH AND UZBEK LITERATURES

This article examines the common and distinctive features of Enlightenment concepts in French and Uzbek literature on the basis of comparative literary analysis. The philosophical and literary views of French Enlightenment thinkers such as Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Diderot and Montesquieu, as well as the works of Uzbek Jadid enlighteners including Mahmudhoja Behbudiy, Abdulla Avloni, Abdurauf Fitrat and Cholpon are analyzed. The study highlights common ideas related to education, science, freedom, human intellect and social development. At the same time, differences connected with historical conditions, religious views, national consciousness and political aims are discussed. The article evaluates French and Uzbek Enlightenment movements as important socio-aesthetic phenomena in the development of world literature and national thought.
