LINGUOSTYLISTIC FUNCTIONS OF GRADUAL OPPOSITION AND THEIR COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

In this article, the linguostylistic functions of gradual opposition are analyzed in a comparative aspect on the example of English and Uzbek languages. The study highlights the semantic essence, expressive-pragmatic features, and stylistic functions of gradual opposition in literary and journalistic texts. The means of expression of gradational units in English and Uzbek languages, including intensifiers, affixation, repetition and functional possibilities of phraseological units, have been studied on a scientific basis. The role of gradual opposition in enhancing the emotionality and imagery of the text is also analyzed based on examples. The research results are of great scientific importance for comparative linguistics and linguostylistics.
