THE CONCEPT OF “YOUTH” IN LINGUISTIC THINKING

This article analyzes the essence and content of the concept of “youth” in Uzbek linguoculture through linguocognitive and linguocultural approaches. The study explores the semantic, psychological, and cultural layers of youth through folk proverbs, literary texts, and the system of values formed in the national worldview. The proverb “Youth is recklessness” is examined as a central linguistic unit, revealing such components as playfulness, inexperience, aspiration toward dreams, impulsiveness, and the pursuit of maturity. The findings demonstrate that in Uzbek cultural consciousness, youth is not viewed as a negatively evaluated stage of life but rather as an important period of personal development, acquisition of life experience, and awareness of social responsibility.
