METHODOLOGY FOR THE HARMONIOUS DEVELOPMENT OF LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCIES IN STUDENTS

This article examines the methodological foundations for the harmonious development of linguistic and communicative competencies among students. Linguistic competence involves knowledge of language units, grammatical norms, lexical richness, and phonetic and stylistic features of a language, whereas communicative competence is reflected in a student’s ability to express thoughts effectively, coherently, and purposefully in real-life communication situations. The article substantiates the need to develop these competencies not in isolation but within an interconnected pedagogical process. Particular attention is given to the methodological potential of text-based activities, exercises for developing dialogic and monologic speech, problem-solving situations, role-playing, interactive methods, professionally oriented tasks, and digital educational tools. The study demonstrates that applying linguistic knowledge in communicative activities enhances students’ speech activity, independent thinking, professional communication culture, and social adaptability.
