HISTORIOGRAPHY AND SOURCE STUDIES OF THE SOVIET POPULATION RESETTLEMENT POLICY IN UZBEKISTAN

This article analyzes the historiography and source studies of the Soviet population resettlement policy in Uzbekistan. The research examines the historical interpretation of population resettlement processes carried out during the Soviet period, the main scholarly approaches used in studying these processes, and the available source base. It also demonstrates how different stages of Soviet migration policy were interpreted in historical literature and how new perspectives on this issue emerged in the historiography of the independence period. The article analyzes the source value of archival documents, statistical data, official Soviet reports, scholarly monographs, and modern research works. As a result, the study substantiates the necessity of a comprehensive approach to investigating population resettlement policies.
