FACTORS OF FORMATION AND STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT OF PLACE NAMES IN THE SHAHRISABZ REGION

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the natural-geographical, historical, ethnic, socio-economic and cultural factors that affect the formation of toponyms in the urban area. Also, the stages of historical development of toponyms are studied in the cross section of periods, and their semantic and linguistic features are illuminated. The results of the study reveal the importance of territorial toponymy in historical memory and the preservation of national heritage.
