INFORMATION ON THE COORDINATES OF THE SYR DARYA IN ARABIC SOURCES AND THEIR ANALYSIS

This article analyzes information about the Syr Darya based on Arabic-language sources. It examines the accounts of medieval Arab geographers and historians regarding the river’s geographical location, hydrographic features, and its economic and strategic significance. Particular attention is given to toponymic data, trade routes, and socio-cultural processes associated with the Syr Darya from a source-critical perspective. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of the historical geography of the region and the scholarly value of Arabic sources.
