THE SEMANTIC AND STYLISTIC FUNCTIONS OF LOANWORDS IN “TARIXI FARG‘ONA”

This article analyzes the semantic and stylistic functions of Arabic and Persian-Tajik loanwords in Is’hoqxon To‘ra Ibrat’s “Tarixi Farg‘ona”. The study reveals that loanwords in the work serve not only as linguistic elements but also as reflections of the spiritual and social worldview of the time. Ibrat skillfully integrates Arabic and Persian elements into the Uzbek morphological system, expanding their semantic potential and expressive capacity. The article examines the lexical layers, stylistic roles, and morphological adaptation of the loanwords used in the text. The findings show that “Tarixi Farg‘ona” functions as both a historical document and a literary-linguistic source that illustrates the evolution of the Uzbek language and its cultural interaction with neighboring linguistic traditions.
