THE FORMATION AND FUNCTIONAL FEATURES OF NICKNAMES AND PSEUDONYMS IN DIFFERENT CULTURES AND LANGUAGES

This article provides a comparative analysis of the formation mechanisms, semantic features, and functional characteristics of nicknames and pseudonyms across different cultures and languages. The study examines anthroponymic, mixed, and non-anthroponymic types of nicknames found in English, German, Russian, and Uzbek, as well as their formation patterns and communicative-pragmatic potential. Particular attention is given to the role of nicknames and pseudonyms in personal identification, characterization, evaluation, and the expression of national and cultural values. The findings demonstrate that nicknames and pseudonyms constitute important nominative units with significant linguocultural relevance.
