THE LINGUISTIC-CULTURAL ROLE OF ONOMASTIC UNITS IN THE EPISTLE OF "RUSTAMXHON"

This article studies the linguo-cultural characteristics of onomastic units in the folk epic "Rustamkhan". The etymological, semantic, and cultural-spiritual aspects of geographical names such as Aqtash, Khorezm, Khiva, Urgench, Chortut, which appear in the text of the epic, are analyzed. The results of the study show that onomastic units in the epic language perform not only a nominative function, but also the functions of creating an epic space, preserving historical and cultural memory, expressing national mentality, and reflecting the identity of the people. The article is of significant theoretical and practical importance for scientific research in the fields of folklore linguistics, onomastics, and linguo-cultural studies.
