A LINGUO-AREAL INTERPRETATION OF PHONETIC DIALECTISMS IN SAMARKAND REGION

This article analyzes certain phonetic features of the Kipchak dialect spoken in the Samarkand region from a linguo-areal perspective. The examples selected for the study are mainly drawn from the living speech of local residents and represent authentic elements of folk language. The paper examines characteristic phonetic phenomena of the Kipchak dialect, including vowel harmony (synharmonism), sound alternations, and specific dialectal forms. It also investigates words that were once widely used in the dialect but have partially or completely lost their distinctive phonetic features under the influence of the literary language. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the linguistic landscape of the Kipchak dialects in the Samarkand region and enrich the field of Uzbek dialectology.
