SEMANTIC, PRAGMATIC AND STYLISTIC EQUIVALENCE IN TRANSLATION: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF CLASSICAL TEXTS

This article analyzes the issue of semantic, pragmatic and stylistic equivalence in the translation of classical literature in comparison with English translations of “Baburnoma”. The focus of the research is on the content layer of the original text, the pragmatic orientation of the author’s speech and the extent to which the stylistic originality is preserved in the translation. It is shown that equivalence in the translation of classical texts is not limited to simple lexical correspondence, but is inextricably linked to the historical-cultural context, the author’s tone, the method of depiction and the internal aesthetic load of the speech.
