SPEECH REALIZATION AND STYLISTIC POTENTIAL OF POLYSEMANTIC PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS

This article examines the mechanisms of contextual realization of polysemantic phraseological units and their stylistic potential. The study is grounded in the assumption that phraseological units should not be treated as static lexical entities, but rather as dynamic systems capable of activating different semantic layers depending on communicative conditions. The analysis is based on a corpus of Uzbek polysemantic phraseological units, whose realizations are comparatively explored across literary, journalistic, and spoken discourse. The findings demonstrate that the stylistic value of phraseological units is determined not by their inherent semantic structure alone, but by the selective activation of specific semantic layers within particular contexts. This approach contributes to a more precise understanding of the interaction between phraseological semantics and stylistics, highlighting the functional flexibility of phraseological units in real discourse.
