SEMANTIC FEATURES OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH NUMERICAL COMPONENTS IN THE GERMAN LANGUAGE

This article examines the semantic features of phraseological units with numerical components in the German language. Phraseological expressions containing numerals occupy an important place in the system of figurative means of German, as they reflect the worldview, cultural experience, evaluative attitudes and national way of thinking of native speakers. The study analyzes phraseological units formed with such numerical components as eins, zwei, drei, sieben, hundert, tausend, focusing on their semantic structure, figurative meaning, emotional and expressive potential, and communicative functions. It is revealed that the numerical component in German phraseological units often does not denote an exact quantity, but conveys such meanings as plurality, smallness, completeness, indefiniteness, repetition or intensification. The article identifies the main semantic groups of phraseological units with numerical components and demonstrates their role in representing the relationship between language and culture. The findings of the study may be useful for German phraseology studies, translation practice and linguocultural analysis.
