SEMANTIC CLASSIFICATION OF PARENTHETICAL CONSTRUCTIONS IN SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE

The article examines the semantic groups of introductory constructions used in scientific texts. The primary function of these units is to express the speaker’s attitude toward the utterance, which is realized through different semantic categories. The study identifies introductory constructions expressing the degree of reliability of information, logical relations, source of information, evaluative and emotional attitude, as well as those organizing discourse and ensuring textual cohesion.
