THE FIRST SCIENTIFICAL APPROACH ON THE CHRONOLOGY OF THE OX CIVILIZATION

This article examines the Oxus Civilization of the Bronze Age (2300–1450 BCE) as a new center of Ancient Eastern civilization. The civilization is characterized as a major cultural and historical complex that integrated the Sapalli culture of Southern Uzbekistan, the Dashly culture of Northern Afghanistan, and the Namazga culture of Southern Turkmenistan. The study analyzes the earliest scholarly views on the chronology of the Oxus Civilization and reviews the principal approaches to the periodization of the Bactria–Margiana Archaeological Complex (BMAC). Particular attention is given to chronological classification methods based on radiocarbon dating and their significance for archaeological research. The findings demonstrate the importance of modern archaeological and scientific methods in reconstructing the developmental stages of the Oxus Civilization.
