THE CONCEPTS OF SECULARISM AND THE SECULAR STATE

This article examines the essence and content of the concepts of secularism and the secular state, their role in social development, and their legal and political significance. It analyzes the importance of the principle of secularism in ensuring human rights and freedoms, as well as the organization of relations between the state and religion on the basis of mutual independence. Furthermore, the article discusses the main characteristics of a secular state, including the rule of law, freedom of conscience, and equal rights for all citizens. Through this analysis, it is possible to gain an understanding of the implementation of secular state principles in Uzbekistan and their importance in building a democratic society.
