THEORETICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL FOUNDATIONS FOR DEVELOPING GRAMMATICAL COMPETENCE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS

This article examines the theoretical and pedagogical foundations for developing grammatical competence in primary school pupils. It discusses the essence of grammatical competence, its role in mother tongue education, and its importance in the development of pupils’ oral and written speech. The article also analyzes the competence-based approach, consideration of pupils’ age-related characteristics, reliance on didactic principles, and the development of practical speech activities. It is substantiated that the formation of grammatical competence in primary education is an important pedagogical factor in developing pupils’ accurate, coherent and logical speech, as well as improving their language culture.
