LITERARY DISCOURSE AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IN EXPRESSING THE WRITER’S ATTITUDE TOWARD DEATH

This article examines the loss of personal inner balance as one of the principal factors leading to human tragedy in both English and Uzbek literature. The study analyzes the artistic representation of this complex issue through the protagonists of the works by S. Maugham, U. Hamdam, and L. Bo‘rixon. Literary discourse and the author's personal standpoint are interpreted as a logical continuation of the writer’s worldview concerning human nature. The article also explores how these ideas are embodied through the concept of the absurd hero in the novels under consideration.
