THE PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS AND GRAMMATICAL EXPRESSION OF THE CATEGORY OF TENSE: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ENGLISH AND UZBEK

This article examines the philosophical and theoretical foundations of the category of time and the features of its grammatical expression using the examples of the English and Uzbek languages. Newton's concept of absolute time, Einstein's theory of relativity, and Kant's transcendental approach are considered as the theoretical basis for the linguistic analysis. The paper provides insights into the lexical foundations of this opposition in both languages: the synonymic field of such units as lahza (moment), soniya (second), daqiqa (minute), payt (time/period) in the Uzbek language and the polysemy of the lexeme "time" in the English language.
