HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE BACTRIAN SATRAPY

This article analyzes foreign and domestic historiographical studies devoted to the Bactrian Satrapy and the history of Turan during the period of Achaemenid rule (6th–4th centuries BCE). Drawing on the scholarly works of J. Naveh, Sh. Shaked, I. V. Pyankov, Yu. S. Kukharchik, B. Jacobs, A. M. Malikov, K. Kleber, R. R. King, R. Bixler, S. Müller, A. K. Nefyodkin, and M. Ferrario, the study examines historical and archaeological evidence related to the urban development, craftsmanship, and architectural culture of the Bactrian Satrapy. The article also analyzes the principal historiographical approaches and scholarly perspectives on this subject.
