THE USE OF INDICATORS IN THE NAMES OF MAHALLAS AND LOCALITIES

The article analyzes the names of historical neighborhoods and districts of Tashkent. The features of the use of toponymic indicators in them are identified. Since toponymic indicators directly carry information about individual aspects of the topographic object, their study is considered important. The article distinguishes such types as natural and artificial objects, active and inactive, purely horonymic and functional, historical and etymological layers, and the features of the use of topographic indicators in the context of neighborhoods and districts.
