THE FORMATION AND HISTORICAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE BADASH ART IN THE SURKHAN–SHERABAD OASIS

This article analyzes the historical roots, formation, and ethnocultural features of the Badash tradition in the Sherabad oasis. It examines the relationship of Badash with traditional life, labor activities, festivals and rituals, as well as the role of women performers and intergenerational continuity in its preservation. Particular attention is also given to the historical connections between the musical and folklore traditions of the oasis and the cultural heritage of ancient Bactria.
