LINGUISTIC CRITERIA FOR IDENTIFYING IMPLICIT INFORMATION IN FORENSIC LINGUISTIC EXPERTISE

This article examines the linguistic criteria for identifying implicit information in forensic linguistic expertise from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Since hidden meaning in legally significant texts is often conveyed through presupposition, implicature, connotation, speech implication, and discursive strategies, identifying such meaning constitutes one of the most complex stages of expert analysis. The study analyzes the semantic, pragmatic, discursive, and cognitive nature of implicit information using a comprehensive approach. By comparatively examining international and national forensic linguistic practices, the study systematizes the linguistic indicators used to identify implicit information. It also highlights the importance of context, the communicative situation, the relationship between the addresser and the addressee, the communicative intent, and background knowledge within the expert analysis process. The study proposes scientifically grounded linguistic criteria for identifying implicit information and substantiates their role in formulating objective and reliable expert conclusions in forensic linguistic examinations. The findings contribute to the advancement of research in forensic linguistics, pragmalinguistics, text linguistics, and jurislinguistics, as well as to the improvement of expert practice.
