FRANSUZ VA O‘ZBEK TILLARI DIALOGIK DISKURSIDA ANTONIMLARNI SHAKLLANTIRUVCHI FORMAL-FUNKSIONAL VOSITALAR

The article compares the formal means of forming words with opposite meanings in conversational texts of French and Uzbek. Antonyms are examined not as isolated words, but together with the syntactic pattern in which they occur and the task they perform. On the one hand, the article compares the combinatory possibilities of the French prefix in- with the range of use of the Uzbek affixes -siz, no-, be-; on the other hand, it describes seven types of patterns that link antonyms in dialogue. The analysis shows that in both languages the most frequently used antonyms are formed not by affixation but from different roots, while the possibility of forming an antonym by means of an affix depends in French on the meaning of the word and in Uzbek on its part of speech and origin.
