THE STATE OF SPEECH THERAPISTS’ PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND METHODOLOGICAL READINESS FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD)

The article uses a survey (descriptive, cross-sectional) method to examine speech therapists’ professional knowledge, attitudes, and methodological readiness for working with children with ADHD. Eighty-five speech therapists participated; knowledge was assessed with the Knowledge of Attention Deficit Disorders Scale (KADDS). Results revealed an insufficient overall knowledge level (47.6%), particularly regarding correction methods (39.7%); those with prior specialised training scored significantly higher.
