MODERN PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGIES AND ASSESSMENT APPROACHES FOR DEVELOPING ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILLS

This article examines the theoretical foundations, contemporary teachingstrategies, and assessment approaches for developing speaking skills in English as aSecond/Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) education. It analyzes the effectiveness ofCommunicative Language Teaching (CLT), Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT),formative assessment, self-assessment, peer assessment, and digital technologies,including artificial intelligence, in improving learners' communicative competence. Thestudy also discusses speaking anxiety, supportive learning environments, andinnovative pedagogical practices based on a comprehensive review of relevantliterature.
