The article analyzes the transformation of the legal regulation of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan during 2017–2025. It examines the key regulatory and legal acts that shaped the liberalization of the sector, including the abolition of licensing requirements, simplification of the visa regime, adoption of the new Law “On Tourism” (2019), establishment of tourism clusters, and approval of strategic goals through 2030. The practical outcomes of the reforms are highlighted, including an increase in the number of foreign tourists from 2.7 million in 2017 to 10.1 million in 2024 and an increase in tourism service exports from USD 773 million to USD 3.4 billion. The article substantiates the need for further improvement of legislation in the areas of digitalization, ecotourism, and agritourism.
