Abstract

The article analyzes alienation, emotional loneliness, fragmentation of the self, and the individual’s sense of estrangement within urban and social environments in contemporary Uzbek youth poetry. The poems of Bobur Elmurod, Suhrob Ziyo, and Shahriyor Shavkat serve as the primary material for the study. Z. Bauman’s concept of “liquid modernity” is employed as a methodological framework for explaining the instability of contemporary life and the weakening of social ties, while G. Simmel’s views on the metropolis are used to interpret psychological self-protection and distancing in urban environments. The analysis demonstrates that loneliness is not merely a psychological state but also a literary manifestation of the impact of the social environment on individual consciousness. Young poets express this condition through such images as the road, wall, darkness, eyes, camera, sky, and soul. The study concludes that alienation in contemporary youth poetry functions not only as a condition that distances the individual from society but also as a poetic mechanism that encourages the reconsideration and rediscovery of the self.
