Abstract

The article examines the structural and phonetic adaptation of consonant clusters in Russian loanwords. It analyzes the preservation of two- and three-consonant sequences, segment substitution, epenthesis, prothesis, reduction, metathesis, and resyllabification patterns. The study finds that consonant cluster structures tend to be preserved to a greater extent in recent English loanwords.
