Abstract

This article analyzes the problem of designing students’ independent learning assignments within the credit-module system from a pedagogical and methodological perspective. Particular attention is paid to the alignment of assignment content with expected learning outcomes, the level of cognitive complexity, and the correspondence between the time required to complete assignments and the credit workload of the course. Based on regulatory documents, the ECTS approach, constructive alignment, and taxonomic approaches, criteria for evaluating independent learning assignments were developed. The analysis demonstrates the need to move beyond mechanically determining the number of assignments and instead plan learning outcomes, assignment content, cognitive complexity, time requirements, and credit workload in an interconnected manner. The proposed approach contributes to determining the actual student workload, identifying and revising existing imbalances, and improving the effectiveness of independent learning.
