This article examines the social identity of the individual in English and Uzbek paremiological units from a comparative linguocultural perspective. The research material comprises 640 paremiological units, including 320 English and 320 Uzbek proverbs and sayings. The corpus was classified according to eight major categories of social identity: family and kinship, age and generation, gender and social role, labor and professional activity, socio-economic status, moral and reputational identity, interpersonal relationships, and individual–society relations. The analysis considers the positive, negative, and ambivalent evaluation of paremiological units, their individual, relational, and collective orientations, their semantic mechanisms, and the levels of equivalence between English and Uzbek. The results demonstrate that both paremiological systems positively evaluate diligence, honesty, wisdom, loyalty, responsibility, and family values. At the same time, English paremias more actively represent patterns associated with individual responsibility and personal initiative, whereas Uzbek paremias show a relatively stronger representation of kinship, mutual assistance, social solidarity, and collective responsibility. The study reveals the significance of paremiological units as linguocultural means of shaping an individual’s social identity.
