Abstract

This article analyzes the role of Islam as reflected in historical sources of the Timurid era and its influence on state governance, socio-spiritual life, and cultural development. The political and cultural processes that took place in Transoxiana and Khorasan during the 14th–15th centuries developed in close connection with Islamic values. Drawing on historical chronicles, biographical anthologies (tazkiras), waqf documents, and accounts of architectural monuments from the Timurid period, the study examines the position of religious institutions in society. Based on historical sources, particular attention is given to the efforts of Amir Temur and the Timurid rulers to develop mosques, madrasas, khanqahs, and other religious and educational institutions. The article also explores the development of Islamic education, science, and Sufism, highlighting their significance in shaping the cultural environment of the Timurid era. The findings provide an understanding of the history of this period through the interrelationship between religious, political, and cultural processes.
