Abstract

The article proposes a methodological model for teaching applied mathematics disciplines in higher education institutions based on intelligent adaptive learningtechnologies. The model consists of goal-oriented, content-related, organizational-technological, and assessment-outcome components. The structuring of subject contentas a graph of knowledge components and prerequisite relationships is demonstratedusing the Ordinary Differential Equations module as an example. Bayesian KnowledgeTracing is applied to update the learner model, while a two-parameter Item ResponseTheory model is used for task selection; the operation of the algorithm is demonstratedthrough a numerical example. Pedagogical decision-making rules corresponding to thelearner's knowledge state, the stages of the blended learning cycle, and the criteria andstatistical methods for evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed methodology aredefined.
