Abstract

The article examines methods for developing English reading skills among physicsstudents at non-philological higher education institutions through strategies selectedaccording to their language proficiency levels (A2, B1, and B2 under the CEFR). Readingstrategies are classified into cognitive, compensatory, metacognitive, and social categories, and a “strategy – text – task” alignment model is proposed for each proficiencylevel. The practical effectiveness of the model was investigated through experimentalstudies, and the results were compared across levels of learning achievement. The articlepresents a sample lesson plan, pedagogical conditions, and practical recommendations.
