Речевая деятельностьрассматривается как сложное педагогико-психологическое явление, тесно связанное смышлением, восприятием, пониманием, выражением отношения и участием в социальномобщении. В статье раскрываются сущность коммуникативных методов, их отличие оттрадиционных репродуктивных способов обучения, роль в активизации личностиучащегося, а также методические возможности развития диалогической и монологическойречи. Обосновывается, что коммуникативные методы формируют ученика не какпассивного повторителя готовых знаний, а как активного субъекта речевой ситуации,способного выражать мнение, слушать собеседника и достигать цели общения.
