N2  - This article examines the role of modern Uzbek dialects, specifically in the speech of youth from the Surkhandarya and Khorezm regions, within the context of globalization and information technology using a sociolinguistic approach. Based on the results of a remote survey, a comparative analysis of lexical (e.g., «narvon/zangi», «ashkadi/kadi») and grammatical (e.g., the «-jak» affix) differences between the dialects of the two regions, as well as the socio-psychological attitudes of youth towards their native dialects, is conducted. The research findings indicate that dialects are not disappearing; rather, they are adapting to digital spaces (social networks) as a form of «cyber-dialectology,» serving as a tool for regional identity awareness.
