      "abstract": "This article analyzes the cognitive-semantic features of kinetic units expressed through lip movements in Uzbek and English. Lip movement is interpreted as a linguocognitive sign that represents emotion, attitude, evaluation, silence, irony, resentment, inner tension and communicative intention. Uzbek units such as \u201clabini tishlamoq\u201d, \u201clabini qisib olmoq\u201d, \u201clabini burmoq\u201d, \u201clabini cho\u2018chchaytirmoq\u201d and English units such as \u201cto bite one\u2019s lip\u201d, \u201cto press one\u2019s lips together\u201d, \u201cto curl one\u2019s lip\u201d, \u201cto pout\u201d, \u201cto smirk\u201d are examined comparatively. The results show that the concept of lip movement is formed through the model of body, emotion, cognitive evaluation, verbal expression and cultural interpretation.",
